Primacorp Ventures' Philanthropy Division Provides Emergency Relief Funding to Myanmar During Political Crisis

Thursday, March 11, 2021

On Wednesday, March 3, 2021, Primacorp Ventures' Philanthropy Division provided emergency relief funding to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, as a result of the food shortage created by the evolving political crisis. These funds will be used to purchase bags of rice and vegetable seeds for families in need, sustaining close to 900 individuals for at least a month.

“We are honoured to be able to help the people in Myanmar during this political hardship,” says Dr. Peter Chung. “Our organization serves to provide humanitarian aid in order to alleviate human suffering through various means, and we hope that our donation is able to alleviate famine for hundreds of Myanmar residents.”

Through a partnership with Multiply, the distribution of food will take place through 10 churches, providing food for approximately 900 individuals over the next month. Primacorp Ventures is prepared to provide additional donations, following the first distribution, once they are able to reassess the current needs in Myanmar.

As hundreds of thousands of protestors join the national pro-democracy demonstrations, the people of Myanmar are not getting paid and the cost of food is escalating. Primacorp Ventures' Philanthropy Division saw a need to help the people of Myanmar, and their donation can alleviate hunger for weeks to come.
