About the 7th Metropolis Identities Summit

The summit, held at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre, focused on “Renewing Canada – Migration, Intersections, and Evolving Identities.” It addressed social and economic challenges, tackled misinformation, and promoted social inclusion through intergroup dialogue. A significant segment of the event was the Metropolis Social Determinants of Health Conference, which convened policymakers, academics, and non-profit leaders to discuss essential issues such as healthcare access, education, and social support systems for newcomers.

Notable speakers included representatives from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and thought leaders in diversity, who provided actionable strategies for reducing racism and fostering greater social cohesion.
